Lexplug describes itself as a modern legal education platform and a case brief site built by law students for law students, with a goal of making legal knowledge more accessible. At its foundation is a library of more than 40,000 case briefs covering every core 1L, 2L and 3L subject, each brief distilling facts, procedural posture, issue, holding, reasoning, dissents and a short analysis of the case's significance. Lexplug says new briefs are added every week, and if a case is missing, members can request it: the add-a-case flow takes a case name, year and reporter and generates a complete brief in under two minutes, drawing on a database of over four million cases. The study stack extends well beyond briefs. Outlines cover 40+ subjects and 3,000+ topics, with the membership list citing 5,000+ topics over 48 subjects. The practice center adds timed exams, AI-graded practice essays, custom flashcard decks with real-time grading, and 3,000+ multiple-choice questions with explanations across 45+ subjects. Hundreds of video explainers and audio podcast sessions let students review doctrine away from the casebook, while 1L Attack Sheets condense each first-year subject into a single-page rule reference. A reference library keeps the Constitution, Black's Law Dictionary, the Federal Rules of Evidence and the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure one click away, and every case, brief and outline can be bookmarked into folders. AI is woven through the product rather than bolted on. Gunnerbot is Lexplug's AI study companion: it is case-specific, so the assistant on a case page is automatically wired to that case, and students can ask about the holding, the reasoning, or how the case relates to another precedent. ELI5 mode converts a standard law school brief into plain English. The Tool Lab adds experimental utilities, including an attack sheet generator, an exam generator that builds issue spotters from a student's own materials, a flashcard zone that turns outlines into decks, a citation machine, a legal typing trainer, a Pomodoro timer and an ambient soundscape generator. There is also a cover letter tool for OCI and laterals, a request-a-tool form, and a Cold Call Challenge feature with optional friendly stakes for practicing out loud. Lexplug is a subscription product for individual students, with a 7-day free trial for eligible accounts, plus a separate one-time 1L prep course called Foundations for Law. The site says students at over 190 law schools use it, and that it has been featured by Above The Law, Washington Lawyer, Law360 and LawSites. Case coverage is currently US-only.
