SkillsMP

SkillsMP is a free, community-driven discovery platform for agent skills, which are reusable instruction packages that teach AI assistants how to perform specific kinds of work. A skill normally centers on a SKILL.md file and may include scripts, templates, examples, or domain notes, and these packages have become the standard way to extend coding assistants such as Claude, Codex, and ChatGPT. SkillsMP continuously collects SKILL.md files from public GitHub repositories and has indexed more than 2.8 million of them, making it one of the largest public search surfaces for the growing agent-skills ecosystem. The platform is organized around exploration: users can search by concrete keywords such as a task, tool, or field term, browse by profession or domain through curated collections, and open each public example to inspect how its creator organized scope, steps, checklists, and supporting files. SkillsMP is explicit that it indexes references and does not certify or install skills, so the site positions itself as a discovery and study layer over the open ecosystem rather than a package manager or safety reviewer. It also tracks what people are turning into skills across fields, showing emerging patterns such as coding workflows, design processes, or domain-specific methods. Beyond the web search interface, SkillsMP provides a documented API that lets anonymous users run 50 keyword searches per day and registered users with a free API key run up to 500 searches per day, plus an MCP server that requires no authentication, so the same discovery capabilities can be embedded in agent tools. The project states it is an independent community project not affiliated with Anthropic or OpenAI, and it is entirely free with no paid tiers, premium features, or hidden costs. A docs section, partnerships program, and changelog round out the platform, which is aimed squarely at developers building or using agent skills.
